The Challenge aimed to raise proceeds for 1000 meals for children in the historic 9th ward of New Orleans. The 9th ward is known as a food desert, defined by the USDA as any low-income area that has at least 500 residents and no grocery store within one mile. This lack of access has been directly correlated to the development of childhood obesity and innumerable life-long health issues. 25% of children in Louisiana suffer from food insecurity, the highest rate in the country. No community should be responsible for fighting these odds alone, so we partnered with Revolution Foods to Make it Count!
Each Warrior pledged to Grind 9 times 2 Give 9 meals. Over 100 Warriors later and we were able to meet our goal! Check out the video to see how we Grind2Give Together!
